Susan Shaw Hi! Welcome to my profile!

First, some information about my shipping policies:

All orders will ship within three business days of receipt of payment.

I ship all items via the United States Postal Service. All packages, whether shipped domestically or internationally, are shipped with insurance purchased from Endicia Internet Postage. Insurance charges are not reflected on shipping labels--Endicia bills me separately for insurance.

Expedited shipping is available upon request for an extra charge. Please contact me before purchasing to arrange details. Please also contact me before purchasing if you are ordering more than one item--I will combine your shipping costs so you won't have to pay any more than is necessary.

I ship internationally as well. Please contact me prior to purchase for a quote on shipping to your country. (For Canadian buyers the shipping amount for an individual item will range between $2.72 - $4.26, including insurance. For all others the shipping amount for an individual item will range between $4.30 - $7.20, including insurance.)

Please note that customs delays are always possible with international purchases. Any customs duties on international purchases are the responsibility of the buyer.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments!

Now that we've got that out of the way, here's some information about me:

I was born and raised in New York City , where I began making jewelry as a teenager. I first sold my work on Bleeker Street, in Greenwich Village, in front of what used to be the Village Gate.

For college I attended the State University of New York where I studied linguistics. After that I lived in London, England and Athens, Georgia. I've worked as a secretary in a doctor's office, a law firm, and a university.

After starting yellowplum beads in August of 2001 I returned to New York. I spent four years exhibiting at juried arts and crafts shows, during which time I met lots of amazing people and built a solid customer base.

In 2005 I decided to fulfill my lifelong dream of living in the country. I bought a house just outside of Parrsboro, Nova Scotia, a small town nestled between the Cobequid Hills and the Bay of Fundy. The incredible beauty of my new surroundings and the warmth of my new friends and neighbors inspire me on a daily basis.

I also spend a lot of time in Belfast, a vibrant arts town in the mid-coast region of Maine, where my family now lives. I consider myself extremely lucky to be able to spend my time designing and creating in such beautiful environments. I hope to share my happiness through the things I make.
